Board Meetings

I can’t emphasize enough that we all must be aware of what’s happening in our community. There are a couple of ways to do just that.

Firstly, the community members really should try to attend board meetings. Just a few people have attended the board meetings since the annual meeting. Most of the few attendees (literally one or two) are not at all critical or questioning of the board.

I’ve been reading newsletters and websites from other local communities and HOAs. One nearby, Crossroads HOA in Citrus Heights, had a successful recall, primarily over financial mismanagement.

They were canceling contracts and struggling to make debt repayments.  Let’s not get there. Our precarious financial situation puts us at risk. We must keep pressure on these people and hold them accountable.

A second way to stay informed is to visit this website regularly. We hope others become more comfortable posting here soon, but in the meantime, I’ll continue posting information as it becomes available to keep the community informed.  If it has been awhile since you've looked at the article posts, you might look again, as I continue to update or improve post and feature articles as we continue to build out the website.  More content and features are coming soon.

If you have information that you feel should be broadcast to the community, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.   You may remain anonymous.

Friends,

As many of you probably know, I and several others who call Edgewood home are banned from the board meetings.  Even with a proxy form.

Pat Burden points out that California HOAs are private membership organizations, not part of the public sector.  Regardless, this doesn't mean it is illegal to allow us in.  She just doesn't want us there.

That is their most effective defense at this point.  Exclusion.

That's not what the good guys do.

I was able to catch a glimpse of the turnout at the meeting on Tuesday. I couldn't see everything, but there appeared to be a good number of people walking into the clubhouse boardroom.

Outstanding.

I understand they pretty much punted at the last meeting.  I have no doubt they are hoping the attention on them dissipates during the next month. I can assure Pat that won't happen.

The next meeting should be a good one.

From David Stirling website, under "Who may attend board meetings."
The use of the word "disruptive" in this context concerns me as an American.

We intend to disrupt what is happening here in our community.
