Minor changes in store for the Edgewood Community Website! We have the all clear to return to www.edgewoodhoa.org. We will redirect from birdcageheights.com for a while.

I'm going to rebuild the server while we switch domains. This should improve performance and security, and will take a few to several hours to complete. During this time the website will redirect to a landing page. (edit: we are building offline and will swap in when ready—minimal downtime.)
Then, I will begin building (what I hope will be) an excellent website for the Birdcage Heights Neighborhood, as I own both birdcageheights.com and birdcageheights.org. If the Area 11 R.E.A.C.H. Board is interested, I'll gladly transfer ownership to them (free!). If that's not feasible, perhaps I can administer the website and post community news and events, local business profiles, spotlights on local community organizations, volunteer organizations and opportunities, etc.
Maybe even a section devoted to developments with the Sunrise Tomorrow Plan.
I'm curious about the R.E.A.C.H. Board members and other leaders in the community. Maybe some nice background/bio pages.
Perhaps even a Birdcage Heights greater neighborhood public forum? It could be a fun way to connect with our neighbors! Something to consider.
I'm excited about the possibilities.

Hi Folks,
We are still moving servers and domains. I'm in an accelerated IT certification program (actual college), so it's been taking up much of my time. Hopefully, we'll get to it this weekend.
Once we move servers, we plan to introduce several new features, like a trouble ticket server (website support only for now), and additional communication features, like Facebook-style social media, video, etc.
No HOA or community website that I have come across offers features like what we already offer, and intend to include down the line. We are interactive, they are not. We focus on the community. We are standing out. Lets be a benchmark.

Depending on how you count them, this website now comprises between 90 and 130+ separate and distinct web pages. All painstakingly hand-coded for aesthetics, legibility, and responsive scaling across devices, for a discerning Edgewood clientele. If you have only seen a few of the pages, check for hypertext links in articles and forum posts; those often go to particular pages pertaining to the article with additional information. Say that three times quickly.
We are now storing a substantial amount of media of various types, and I'd like to expand the multimedia functionality, streaming, and service hosting capabilities of the site, while experimenting with AI. As such, I have some additional considerations with regards to the server array and configuration. Full system backups are taking place with the intention to transition to the new domain property within a few days.
Down time should be minimal, but system backups can take hours. We'll try to do most of the work overnight.

We have a new server on order.

We are beginning to transition the website. During the process, we have disabled posting on chat for all users. The current version of the chat feature will still be used for Admin updates and noteworthy news alerts. If chat is again incorporated into the new website, it'll be completely different and much better.
Posting restrictions to the forum may follow shortly. All forum topics and chat threads will always be available as read-only. During this transitional period, however long that may be, I will still post updates and comments about "The Edgewood Voice" and local happenings regarding The Edgewood and Birdcage Neighborhoods, the City of Citrus Heights, and beyond. The City Newsletters and Events Calendar will be maintained indefinitely. New features and special interest articles will continue to be added to the website.
We will continue to be a loud, bright beacon of information for prospective Citrus Heights homebuyers. This is an important role we will not shy away from, and it's the role in which we can be most effective. The website will always be a permanent archive of information about the history of this neighborhood and city.
The Edgewood Homeowners Association Board has already led it's homeowners to the point where substantial special assessments will be required. The association members were supposed to pay $4167 last year, which wouldn't have been anywhere near enough. The eventual special assessments will be much larger (they are at ~12% reserves. 100% is ~$1.6M, and there are many years of deferred maintenance.) It's not fair for an unsuspecting new homebuyer/young family to be assessed without any prior knowledge. None of this is a new homebuyer's fault.
The values of Edgewood Association homes are low relative to other homes in the area. They are among the cheapest in town, from what I can tell. Those homes are priced like starter homes. What a terrible first-time home buying experience the Edgewood Association would be. We aim to inform.
As always, documented evidence is loaded on this website. It starts here.
Recall Petition documents are always available here.
